Primal Match was built for people who've optimized every part of their life, except finding the people who get it. For real relationships, real friendships, and a community that doesn't make you explain why you skip seed oils.
Almost 8 years ago I had the idea for a health-centric dating app. One where people who are careful about their diet and lifestyle can meet other like-minded people. I created Facebook groups to try to encourage people to get out of the isolation of being the healthy person in a society that isn't healthy.
Now we have something better. I've created this app to help people meet each other, whether that's for friendship or a relationship.
I personally know how isolating and difficult it can be for people who want to be healthy and take care of themselves. Who you surround yourself with makes all the difference to whether or not someone can thrive and be supported.
Primal Match uses a combination of scientifically validated personality measurements and lifestyle variables (diet and exercise, with religion and political values rolling in once we hit 100,000 users) to match you with people who might align, and also show you people who don't so that you can make your own decisions. This app asks some of the questions that should be discussed in relationships right off the bat, like "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" and "How do you feel about children?"
I'll be launching this live once we get 15,000 users signed up to be notified, so that it can launch as a success. Invite your health-minded friends along for the ride. There's a free version and a subscription version available. Enjoy!
Primal Match was born from founder Mikhaila Fuller's own experience with the power (and the cost) of personality compatibility. After a divorce when she was young, Mikhaila became deeply interested in what actually predicts whether two people will last. She turned to personality science, completed formal assessments, and used that framework when she met her now-husband. The result: their personalities are nearly identical, with differences primarily in Agreeableness, the exact kind of complementary variation the research says works. Today they have three kids and one on the way, and she's head over heels in love.
That experience became the foundation of Primal Match. Mikhaila saw firsthand that the difference between a relationship that falls apart and one that thrives often comes down to personality alignment, something no mainstream dating app even tries to measure. She built Primal Match to give the health-conscious community the tool she wished she'd had years earlier.
The health-conscious community had no good way to find each other, not just for dating, but for friendship and real connection of any kind. Trying to live healthy in a culture that runs on processed food and chronic stress is genuinely isolating. The friends you grew up with don't get why you cycle your training, read every label, or skip the seed oils. The dating pool feels like translation work. You spend a lot of energy explaining yourself and almost no energy being met where you are. Mainstream apps treat diet as a footnote, a line in a bio that gets scrolled past. But for people who've restructured their lives around ancestral health, carnivore nutrition, or functional wellness, these aren't preferences. They're principles.
Primal Match closes that gap. A platform where your commitment to health isn't something you have to explain or defend, it's the starting point. Whether you're a biohacker, carnivore, animal-based, keto, or following your own ancestral approach, we match on the specifics of how you eat and live, not just a generic "health-conscious" label. But we went further: we built personality matching into the core of the product, because sharing a diet isn't enough. Two people can eat the same way and still be deeply incompatible in how they handle conflict, how disciplined they are, or how emotionally reactive they get under stress. Personality compatibility layered with real lifestyle alignment is what determines whether you'll still want to be together in five years.
Most apps optimize for engagement, time on app, swipes per session, messages sent. Primal Match optimizes for outcomes. Whether you're here for a relationship or a friendship, we measure our success by the connections that lead to something real, not by how many hours you spend scrolling.
Our matching algorithm weighs personality compatibility alongside your specific dietary approach, health philosophy, fitness habits, and long-term goals. It's not a one-size-fits-all formula, it's personalized to how you actually live. A strict carnivore and someone who's casually keto might share values, but they're not the same match as two people who are both deep into nose-to-tail nutrition. If that matters to you, we can account for that. The result: every match comes with the context you need to decide for yourself.
Here's what no other dating app will do: tell you the truth when a match is risky. If your personality profiles show patterns that the scientific literature associates with higher conflict, lower relationship satisfaction, or elevated divorce risk, we surface that information clearly. We don't bury it. We don't spin it. We show you exactly where the friction points are and what the research says about them.
We'd rather lose a swipe today than watch you go through a painful breakup (or worse, a divorce) two years from now. That's not a feature. That's a philosophy.
We'd rather give you three great matches than three hundred mediocre ones. Every feature we build is designed to prioritize quality of connection over quantity of interaction.
Shared health values get you in the same room. We layer in personality data because research suggests it can matter for long-term compatibility, but how much weight you give it is up to you.
We share the science behind our matching, explain our algorithm, and tell you exactly how your data is used. You deserve to understand the platform you're trusting with your personal life.
If the science says a personality pairing carries real risk (higher conflict, emotional instability, elevated divorce probability) we tell you. Clearly, with citations, before you invest months of your life. Other apps hide uncomfortable truths to keep you engaged. We surface them to keep you protected.
More team members coming as we grow.
From a dietary intervention that left Mikhaila feeling isolated in her early twenties, plus a divorce, to finding lasting love through personality science and lifestyle compatibility, Mikhaila built Primal Match to give the health-conscious community a tool she wishes she had.
